The scandi/industrial dream
This Malsaña flat was in desperate need of a complete makeover. The owners wanted a rental flat with three bedrooms, one bathroom and a Scandinavian modern/industrial look. Nevertheless they had their concerns weather it would all fit in.
We calculated that 20m2 were “lost” due the extremely low sloping ceilings, leaving us with 53m2. Still we managed to fit in three bedrooms, out of which (not one but) two have their own en-suite bathrooms! The “lost” space has become closed off storage space.
We also managed to produce a spectacular view of Madrid, turning this depressive apartment into a true dream.
This is the view from the entrance before and after the renovation:
We created a brand new floor to ceiling window. Hello beautiful view of Madrid, hello sunlight!

Guest bedrooom before and after. This is a room with a very low ceiling, and originally it had no window.
Bedroom/bathroom 1 was created by steeling some space from the kitchen/lounge (thus it has no before photo). Small but very cosy and bright!
