On the top floor of a Malsaña building my client found this 21m2 flat. It was all but cute with weird distribution, darkness, popcorn walls, scary old furniture…and no kitchen (!). The aim was to restore some beauty and character, whilst giving it a young and fresh feel. We added a skylight for some more natural light. To add some m2 we decided to house the bedroom above the ceiling beams. We built a relatively big walk in closet, worthy of a young fashionista. The kitchen was made the heart of the flat with a peninsula and bar area. And we also made sure there was a cozy living room, with a sofa bed for visitors. Lets hope the little loft makes a lucky person very happy!

Next is the entrance to what once was the tiny bedroom, now a walk in closet:

Those beams were hidden all too long!
The view from the loft has become a cool feature.
I wish I had pictures of the bathroom before… lets just say it was not pretty. Now it’s fresh and beautiful.
We created a cozy little loft bedroom above the ceiling beams:
And not to forget… the walk in closet and laundry.
